“We love because He first loved us” 1 John 4:19
Love Turlock is a one-day event designed to meet needs and impact lives in our community with the love of Christ. Love Turlock exists to connect people in need with those who can help… we are LOVE IN ACTION!
One Saturday morning in May hundreds gather to tackle projects… big and small. Volunteers show love in a variety of ways; just a few examples: visiting with lonely seniors, collecting and distributing food for the hungry, handyman chores, yard work, painting, gift crafts, errands for shut-ins, and supporting established ministries and agencies already touching so many lives.
This is your opportunity! Volunteers typically serve on a team comprised of approximately 10 people. Each team tackles a project that can be completed in 2-4 hours. Volunteering is easy, simply…
- Develop your own project OR
- Join a project from our list of options (see the “projects” link)
- Click on the project title for more info or to volunteer
- Click “sign me up!” to join the project team
We encourage all volunteers to join us at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds (free stage area) for the event kick-off & free BBQ. The itinerary is as follows:
• 7:30am – kick-off (Stanislaus County Fairgrounds (free stage area))
• Approximately 8:00 – 11:30am – serve people by completing projects you volunteered for
• 12:00 – 2:00pm – free BBQ for volunteers and recipients (fairgrounds)
Our desire is to make connections in our community and show the love of Jesus by meeting practical needs. Love Turlock is not about projects, it’s about serving people! Relationships are the goal and projects are the means. If you know of a need please let us know via email, phone (209) 417-5881, or online submission
“This day of service has been spectacular! It was a wonderful feeling to be able to help some older people that couldn’t do some of their outside sprinkler care. The gratitude was evident and the hugs spoke volumes. It always seems a daunting task to just see a need and take the steps to do if for someone. The organized effort makes it SO very easy to serve those that can truly use it.” — Love Turlock Participant
“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another” 1 Peter 4:10
